Sinking
Words and Music by Dawn Xiana Moon
O mon Dieu, sauve-moi
J'ai de l'eau jusqu'au cou
Dans la boue je m'enlise
Sans point d'appui me voici
Descendu au plus profond des eaux
Save me, O God
For the waters have come up to my neck
I sink in the miry depths
And the floods engulf me
Je m'épuise à crier
Mon gosier est brûlant,
Mes yeux se sont usés
A t'attendre mon Dieu
I am worn out, calling for help
My throat is parched
My eyes fail, looking for my God
Rescue me
Rescue me
Do not let me sink
Tire-moi de la boue
Ne m'engloutisse pas
Que le gouffre béant
Ne me dévore pas
Answer me
Out of the goodness of your love
Réponds-moi, Eternel
Ton amour est si bon
Dans ta grande tendresse
Occupe-toi de moi
(Based on Psalm 69)

We're wanting to stay
But this all goes away
We'll be ok
Them I can't say
When all is falling down
They're speaking up now
Seeing our sins laid bare
Always the wasting share
Feeling so good
In spite of you
Oh I'm not afraid
There's more to change
We should awake
Don't think don't wait
Don't stay home all day
We were no good
We wanted it all
We'll never go on on on
Never the same no way
Never the same
You run away
You run all day

I was swept to sea while trying to be poetic
It always takes a tragedy to put it in perspective
I’ve been living through a drought that never leaves
My inspiration’s gone as well as my beliefs
Well they say that David didn’t pen a psalm for seven years
Or did the words he write just disappear?
The waves came so suddenly today
Did my friends all leave me, or was I swept away?
Well David lived through his dry season, and I guess I will too
To find my peace before being taken by this dangerous blue
And I don’t know why I still sang Hallelujah to my king
Maybe it’s habit, or maybe it’s deeper than everything
I woke up on the beach with a million fish
I know I prayed for rain, but I never meant like this
Well they say that David didn’t pen a psalm for seven years
Or did the words he write just disappear?
Paper can burn, why do I hope these words immortal?
And then you said “it’s still all elemental”

On the crest of the horizon, a new world waits for me;
The naked eye can’t see it, but it is reality.
Across the ocean waves, a million miles away;
Take me home again, to forget my yesterdays.
Tides rolling in, the highs and the lows;
Breathing in today, to restore my soul.
Tides rolling in, to wash away the storms;
Makin’ room for my life, time to be reborn.
A distant memory, of a truth I once knew;
Surviving the years, too afraid to move.
Until the water cleansed me, a mountain stream of tears;
Flowed down the banks of my heart, spilling over my fears.
Tides rolling in, the highs and the lows;
Breathing in today, to restore my soul.
Tides rolling in, to wash away the storms;
Makin’ room for my life, time to be reborn.
Strength is a gift, patient and kind;
Too many tricks have been played, in the depths of our minds;
But a sweet revelation, to have and to hold,
Is precious to embrace, as it finally unfolds.

Fade to white...
Don’t let them see me in the light... Of day
Make them all go away
My heart has grown cold. This world, see weary and old
Chorus
And you know you’re the last of your kind
When they all say that you’ve lost your mind
Because you’re the only one who sees what is happening around And those rose-colored glasses are all broken down
Then you know, you’re the last unicorn in the world
Old Virgin Queen
Became so sullen and mean
And we smoked our last cigarette On the night she was crucified
Pre-chorus
And the hurt and the pain, it just won’t go away
And there’s nobody left for me to blame or share in the shame Ain’t that a damn shame
This used to be something when we were all something But now everything has all changed
Everyone’s blinded don’t wanna be reminded of what we’ve What we’ve become
When they all say that you’ve lost your mind
Because you’re the only one who sees what is happening around And those rose-colored glasses are all broken down
You’re the only one who sees what is happening around
And those rose-colored glasses are all broken down
Then you know, you’re the last unicorn
Then you know, you’re the last unicorn
Yes I know, I’m the last unicorn in the world Coda
Fade to white...
Don’t let them see me in the light

It’s a story of greed
It’s a song about death
It’s a story of those
Who want all the wealth
They have more money
Than a country can spend
And their quest for more
is all they defend
Their greed has no logic
Like a diamond it’s pure
Their hunger is deep
It seems there’s no cure
Like David’s Goliath
He must be taken down
I’ll hold his head under water till
I’m sure that he’s drowned
Now the world’s getting warmer
Is an apocalypse near?
I’m tryin’ to think straight
But I’m too full of fear
Can I explain to my children
With my mind on the brink
Why there ‘s so much water and nothing to drink
